Every price, on one page
£85/hr Weekdays 8am–6pm · £170/hr After Hours, 1-Hour Minimum · CP12 & Servicing Fixed · Everything Else by the Hour
We price work openly and provide estimates before we start. If something unforeseen appears mid-job, we stop and discuss your options before it costs you anything.
Hourly work, two rates
Most of what we do is charged by the hour, with a one-hour minimum — you pay for time on the job, nothing padded on top. We're confident in the work, so we're happy to be judged on it. Gas safety certificates and servicing are the two exceptions: those are fixed.

Our fixed price services
Gas safety certificates and servicing are defined work with nothing hidden, so the price holds — confirmed in writing before the visit.
Guide prices for common jobs
These are typical figures for a straightforward job; we give you a written estimate before we start. The final cost reflects what the job actually needs — older South London properties sometimes ask for more, and we'll always show you why before any extra work.
How payment works
- Payment is by cash or bank transfer, due in full on receipt of invoice
- No VAT is applied to any price on this page
- Hourly-rate work carries a one-hour minimum charge
- Certificates and servicing are fixed; other work is charged by the hour, with a written estimate before it starts
- Parts are sourced and supplied, quoted before ordering
Questions about the rates
Why are some prices shown as ‘from’?
A ‘from’ figure is the price we expect the job to land at in a straightforward property — for a gas cooker, £85 covers connecting an appliance to an existing, well-placed bayonet point. It rises only when the job genuinely needs more: moving or extending pipework, adjusting a worktop or units, or cutting in access to reach the connection. Where possible, we see the situation, then give you a written estimate before any work starts.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Standard weekday work is charged at £85/hr, evenings and weekends at £170/hr, both with a one-hour minimum. You pay for time on the job, not for us turning up.
What if a job takes longer than expected?
Hourly work is charged for the time it takes. If a job is clearly going to run well beyond what we first expected, we tell you before we get there — so there's never a surprise waiting on the invoice.
How are parts charged?
Parts are sourced and supplied separately from labour. We quote the part before ordering it, and it appears as its own line on the invoice — never folded into a rounded-up total.
“We want to be the only engineers you ever call. Honest work and honest prices are how we earn that.”
